
Ms. Leoné Human is a passionate and forward-thinking Engineering Technologist with two decades of experience driving energy innovation in South Africa. With a strong foundation in grid planning, project engineering, electrification, and renewable energy development, she has dedicated her career to building a more connected and sustainable energy future.
As a Grid Engineering Consultant, Leoné plays a key role in unlocking large-scale renewable energy projects. Before joining the private sector, she spent many years at Eskom, where she led national electrification initiatives, spearheaded network planning in the Eastern Cape, and contributed to multiple award-winning infrastructure projects.
In 2025, Leoné was elected Chairperson of the South African Independent Power Producer Association (SAIPPA) and serves on the National Energy Crisis Committee (NECOM) through the Energy Council on the Grid workstream, positions that reflect her influence and commitment to advancing the sector.
Renowned for her technical credibility, strategic vision, and collaborative leadership, Leoné is at the forefront of shaping South Africa’s energy transition, bridging the gap between engineering, innovation, and policy to drive real-world impact.
