All Delegates entering Eswatini must hold a valid national passport (valid for at least six months before the expiry date). SADC Member States do not require visas to enter Eswatini. Furthermore, holders of diplomatic and service/official passports are issued gratis visas on arrival. Holders of passports other than those specified above are requested to check on the visa requirements (See Annex 1). Delegates requiring visas should apply on the following platform https://evisa.gov.sz/ not later than 31 January 2027.

The average minimum and maximum temperatures usually registered in Eswatini during February – March are between 15ºC and 25ºC. There is a likelihood of showers during this period.
Currency
•The majority of hotels, restaurants, and larger shops accept credit cards like Visa/MasterCard or American Express. The local currency, the Lilangeni (SZL), is pegged 1:1 to the South African Rand (ZAR), and both are accepted interchangeably throughout the country. Banking hours are from 08:00 hours to 15:00 hours. Carrying some physical Lilangeni or Rand is necessary for tipping, rural travel, or smaller craft markets
• Exchange facilities are available at various bureau exchanges and banks.
Credit cards
Major credit cards, such as MasterCard, Visa and American Express, are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, and safari companies. However, shops in remote areas and service stations may only accept cash.
There will be a Medical Centre where medical personnel will be available to provide emergency and primary health care facilities.
Getting to the Kingdom of Eswatini
By Air
Eswatini is easily accessible through King Mswati III International Airport, located approximately 75 km from Mbabane and about 55 km from the Ezulwini Valley, where the 3rd SADC Sustainable Energy Week (SEW) 2027 will be held.
National Airline: Eswatini Air operates scheduled regional flights, connecting the Kingdom to key destinations in Southern Africa.
Regional and International Airlines: Travellers can also access Eswatini via O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg, South Africa) or King Shaka International Airport (Durban, South Africa), with convenient onward road transfers to Eswatini. Major airlines serving these hubs include Airlink, South African Airways, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, Lufthansa, British Airways, and many other international carriers.
By Road
Eswatini has an excellent road network and is easily accessible by road from South Africa and Mozambique through several well-equipped border posts. The Kingdom’s major highways are tarred and well maintained, making travel by private vehicle, shuttle, or coach convenient. Vehicles are driven on the left-hand side of the road.

For reliable mobile connectivity during your stay, Eswatini has two main mobile network operators:
- MTN Eswatini
- Eswatini Mobile (formerly Eswatini Mobile/Swazi Mobile)
Both operators offer prepaid SIM cards, data bundles, and mobile voice services. Visitors can purchase SIM cards at authorised retail outlets, the airport, and selected shopping centres. A valid passport or other acceptable identification is required for SIM card registration in accordance with national regulations.
Mobile network coverage is available across most urban centres and major transport routes, with 4G/LTE services offered in many parts of the country.
The standard voltage in Eswatini is 220–240 volts and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Power sockets are type M (three large round pins) and type C (two smaller round pins).
