
Ms, Tino Hess is a Development Economist with over 18 years of experience in international development cooperation, specialising in agricultural development, food and nutrition security, rural transformation, renewable energy, and natural resource management. He holds an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. He currently serves as Project Lead of the GIZ “Farming for Resilience” programme in Namibia and leads the INSPIRE Agri-PV initiative, advancing innovative agrivoltaics solutions that integrate renewable energy into climate-resilient agricultural value chains. Earlier in his career, he worked with the United Nations and DFID in Ethiopia and Kenya, as well as with other bilateral and multilateral organisations across Southern and Eastern Africa. He is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions that strengthen rural livelihoods, enhance food security, and create meaningful economic opportunities for future generations.
