Mr. Monde Bala is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA), appointed in October 2025, following his tenure as interim CEO. With more than two decades in the energy sector, he is a leading figure in South Africa’s electricity transformation, aligning with global trends of decarbonisation and digitalisation.
Previously, he served as Group Executive for Eskom’s Distribution Division, managing one of Africa’s largest power networks. Monde brings strategic vision and operational expertise, championing renewable integration, innovation, and a resilient transmission system essential for the country’s energy transition and socio-economic development. A registered Professional Engineer, he holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
