Mr. Habofanoe Makopela is the Deputy Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Lesotho. He holds a Master of Management Studies in Economics and has over 20 years of experience in project cycle management, aid coordination and management, gained during his tenure at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
Mr. Makopela joined the Ministry of Energy in June 2022, where he supervises the implementation of key energy projects within the ministry. In this role, he has actively contributed to the development of sector policies and frameworks, including the Energy Bill and the Least Cost Electrification Strategy, supporting Lesotho’s drive toward expanded, sustainable and affordable energy access.
