Mr. Amend Chiduma is the Chief Technical Officer of Zimplats Private Limited. An Engineer by training, with additional qualifications in mine engineering and general management, he brings over 28 years of experience across mining, manufacturing, infrastructure and energy systems with a total of 15 years of executive leadership experience.
Since joining Zimplats in 2008, Amend has led group-wide engineering and capital project portfolios, strengthening operational resilience, asset integrity and long-term value creation.
Under his technical leadership, Zimplats has implemented significant expansion projects including a forward-looking power strategy centred on energy security, large-scale renewable integration, energy efficiency and decarbonisation, engaging a broad spectrum of stakeholders locally, regionally and globally.
This includes the current phased rollout of a 185 MWac solar programme, already delivering measurable reductions in peak demand, operating costs and carbon emissions while substituting power imports.
Amend is a strong advocate for clean energy, grid resilience and private-sector participation as critical enablers of sustainable industrial growth and regional competitiveness and is a regular contributor to leading regional and global energy and sustainability forums.
