
Dr. Andreas Elombo is an Oxford-trained engineering scientist with a strong background in energy systems. His expertise and passion lie in developing sustainable solutions that help accelerate the transition to net-zero. He has more than 15 years of diverse international experience in the energy sector, spanning both academia and industry.
Dr. Elombo holds a PhD in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, an MSc (Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering from Stellenbosch University, and a BSc (First Class Honours) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town. Dr. Elombo is the Director of the Namibia Energy Institute (NEI), a strategic national institute hosted at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). Prior to joining NEI, he served as a Research Fellow at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, contributing to the UK’s largest research hub on digital twins for transport decarbonisation.
His previous roles include Net-Zero Transition Consultant at EA Technology Limited, founding R&D Engineer at NamPower, and Research Associate at the University of Bristol. He also serves on several boards and technical committees in Namibia and internationally.
