
Hon. Salome Wycliffe Makamba is the Deputy Minister for Energy of the United Republic of Tanzania and a Member of Parliament. She brings extensive experience in energy policy, project oversight, and community engagement across the power, oil, and gas sectors. In her current role, she oversees national electrification initiatives, clean cooking promotion, and strategic implementation of Tanzania’s energy development programs.
Prior to her ministerial appointment, Hon. Makamba served for a decade as a Member of Parliament, contributing to legislative oversight, sustainable development policy, and international cooperation. Her professional background includes senior community relations roles with the Tanzania LNG Project and large-scale mining operations, where she worked on stakeholder engagement, social investment, and government interface. She is a qualified lawyer with a Master’s degree in Corporate Law and is a strong advocate for inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered energy development.
