Thabani Mpofu is a seasoned communications strategist with over 20 years of leadership in media, marketing, and institutional growth. As Director of Communication and Marketing at the National University of Science and Technology, Thabani has elevated global visibility and launched NUST Campus Radio. Formerly Chairperson of Journalism and Media Studies, Thabani pioneered academic programmes and published widely on gender, media, and African identities.
Internationally, Thabani contributed to the UN Zimbabwe Communications Group Strategy, aligning communications with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals. Regional leadership includes advancing gender-sensitive media policies across 14 SADC countries, while editorial roles strengthened Zimpapers newsroom practices. Representing Zimbabwe at UNESCO and global forums, Thabani is recognised for shaping impactful narratives and promoting sustainable media development.
