
Eng. Munyaradzi Crispen Munodawafa is a seasoned Electrical Engineer with more than 40 years of experience in the energy sector, spanning power engineering, fossil fuels, renewable energy development, water resources management, and large dam management. He currently serves as the Chief Executive of the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA), leading the sustainable and coordinated management of the Zambezi River on behalf of the Governments of Zambia and Zimbabwe. His expertise extends to hydropower planning, transboundary water cooperation, environmental management, and the development of complex regional infrastructure.
At ZRA, he oversees major programmes including the US$300 million Kariba Dam Rehabilitation Project, one of Africa’s most significant dam safety initiatives. He also directs the pre‑development of the 2,400 MW Batoka Gorge Hydro‑Electric Scheme, a renewable energy project expected to strengthen Southern Africa’s energy security.
He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Conflict Resolution, and is a Fellow of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers and a Corporate Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
