Eng. Peace Rugube

    Eng. Peace Rugube is a seasoned engineer and energy sector leader with over 23 years of experience spanning government and private industry in Zimbabwe. Currently serving as Director of Power Development at Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Energy and Power Development, Peace has played a pivotal role in shaping the country’s energy policy, driving sector reforms, and advancing the country’s energy security. His career includes serving as a Non-Executive Director on the ZESA Holdings Board, managing African Development Bank-funded Energy Sector Reform Support Project, coordinating the development and implementation of the Zimbabwe National Energy compact under the Mission 300 initiative supported by World Bank and AfDB and national electrification strategies supported by the World Bank and COMESA. Prior to his government career, he held key engineering and management roles at Zimbabwe Glass Industries and the Standards Association of Zimbabwe, building a strong foundation in plant engineering, project management, product certification and technical standards. A collaborative leader, Peace is keen on driving energy sector reforms and professional competence, strategic thinking, and commitment to sustainable energy development across Zimbabwe and the wider region.
