Prof. Mqhele Enock-Hershal Dlodlo

    Professor Mqhele Enock-Hershal Dlodlo is the Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Zimbabwe. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University in the United States, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Engineering as well as Electrical Engineering from Geneva, USA. A distinguished scholar in Telecommunications and Wireless Communications Systems, he has published extensively and served on international conference committees while mentoring more than eleven PhDs, thirty Master’s graduates, and numerous engineering professionals who now hold senior positions globally. As Trustee of I Am for Bulawayo Fighting COVID-19 Trust and Founding Director of the Core TeleInfrastructure Global Capsule NUST, he has advanced research networks across Africa. Since becoming Vice-Chancellor, he has driven major infrastructural projects including the Innovation Hub, NUST gatehouse, and the Prof Phinias-Mogorosi Makhurane Technovation Centre, while positioning NUST as a leader in DNA testing, architectural design, and national development projects. He has championed Heritage-Based Education 5.0, under which NUST students and academics have won awards locally, regionally, and internationally.
