Ms. Kate Maphage is an entrepreneur who is involved in investments across a variety of sectors including property, energy, travel & toursim. She is the Managing Director of Solarone (Pty) Ltd, a solar company set up in 2009 and was active in various stakeholder consultative fora to support the development of the Solar industry. Over the last 11 years she has also led Flight Connect, a travel and tour company operating within the SADC region. Kate was a key founding member of the consortium which formed the mobile telecommunications company, Mascom Wireless (Pty) Ltd. She held executive positions in the same company from 1998, directing the Human Resource and Commercial divisions during her tenure.
Prior to that, she worked in a variety of sectors, including mining, property development and management and consulting. Her responsibilities covered accounting and administration, board secretarial duties and organizational strategy development as well as implementation. Kate serves on several boards including RDC Limited a property company, where she also serves as a member of the REMCO, ESG and Audit and Risk Committees. Kate also serves on the board of BIHL Ltd and serves as Chairman of its HR Committee. Kate also serves as a director at Botswana Life Limited. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters in Business Leadership
