Mrs. Bridget Poppy John is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Gender Sport and Culture (MYSC) in Botswana. Prior to joining MYSC, she served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Basic Education. She has also served as the Executive Chairperson of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB), Coordinator of the Education Hub, and Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), and Executive Director of the PPADB, as well as Divisional Manager Services (PPADB).
Mrs. John started her career in 1992 at the Ministry of Finance as an Assistant Economist where she rose through the ranks to the level of Principal Economist before joining the PPADB in 2003. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Botswana with a single major in Economics, a Master’s Degree in Development Policy and Public Administration from the University of Madison, Wisconsin, USA, and an MBA from the University of Botswana.
She has undergone training in a number of areas including Leadership, Executive Development Programme, Privatisation and Public Private Partnership, and Procurement, among others. Mrs. John is a seasoned administrator with over thirty (30) years of experience in the Public Sector.
