Mr. Wilson Masango is an electrical engineer who is currently employed by the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) as Chief Engineer Markets where he heads market operations. He is responsible for providing the enabling environment for maximum electricity trading in the SAPP regional competitive markets through design, development, and efficient operations of the market.
He has over eighteen years of experience in the power sector covering electricity distribution, system operations and control, and electricity trading. Before joining the SAPP, he worked for the Eswatini Electricity Company from 2007 rising through the ranks to lead system operations and control in 2015. He has been involved in various committees responsible for, among others, tariff determination and PPA negotiations.
