Mag. Manfred Bürstmayr, MSc, is currently a Sustainable Energy Specialist at the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). With extensive experience in international energy and climate projects, he has worked with organisations such as German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), contributing to energy audits, energy management programmes and smart grid projects in Nepal and Vietnam. His expertise includes renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, and climate mitigation and adaptation strategies. Previously, he worked at the Energy and Climate Agency of Lower Austria, where he supported various sustainability initiatives.
Manfred holds a Master’s degree in urban Renewable Energy Systems from the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna, where his thesis focused on decentralised control of photovoltaic systems. He also graduated from the University of Vienna with a Magister degree in Ethnology and Anthropology. He is a certified expert in climate and renewable energy financing, energy auditing, energy management and project management. Besides his professional activities, he enjoys hiking, climbing and football.
