Mr. David Jarrett is the Country Representative – Namibia at USAID/Power Africa – Empower Southern Africa Program. Mr. Jarrett brings a wealth of experience from various roles in the utility (Electricity, Water & Telecommunications) industries. With over 25 years of experience, he is a recognized expert in renewable energy and utility operations. His project portfolio includes work for the European Union, United Nations, Power Africa, Australia Aid and notably the Green Climate Fund and the Adaptation Fund, focusing on renewable energy and green hydrogen project development, accreditation, finance, and capacity building.
Mr. Jarrett has carried out more recent assignments involving advising for Power Africa (Mega Solar Initiative and SAEP), GIZ (Green Peoples Energy Program), and CENORED (distribution utility) on the upgrading of the Tsumkwe and Gam mini-grids. As such, he is continuously exposed to advancements in the energy sector and processes.
Mr. Jarrett current assignments for USAID / Power Africa (Empower Southern Africa Program) is activated through his role as Country Representative to Namibia and cover Country Representative to Botswana.
