
Mr. Bishal Parajuli has nearly 15 years of experience in the energy sector, specialising in policy-making, renewable energy project implementation, and socioeconomic impact assessments. As Programme Officer for Policy and Socioeconomics at IRENA, he evaluates the economic, labour market, and social welfare impacts of energy and climate policies, with a focus on ensuring just and inclusive transitions.
He has also led global and regional studies on rural electrification policies, electricity market design, and energy access models aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 7. A published author of over 20 reports, including IRENA’s flagship World Energy Transitions Outlook, Bishal is dedicated to leveraging policy, technology, and socioeconomic frameworks to advance equitable and sustainable energy solutions. He holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy and Entrepreneurship from the University of Nottingham.
