From 15–19 March 2027, the Kingdom of Eswatini will host the 3rd SADC Sustainable Energy Week (SEW), bringing together governments, policymakers, regulators, utilities, development partners, financiers, private sector leaders, researchers, academia and innovators from across the 16 SADC Member States and beyond.
Hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy of the Kingdom of Eswatini, in collaboration with the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE), the event will be held under the theme: “Financing the Future to Unlock Investment for Sustainable Energy, Energy Access and Energy Security in the SADC Region.”
The official launch of the event by His Royal Highness Prince Lonkhokhela, Honourable Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, marked the beginning of preparations for what is expected to be the region’s largest gathering dedicated to sustainable energy. More importantly, it signalled a renewed commitment by governments, industry and development partners to work together towards a shared vision of an energy-secure and climate-resilient Southern Africa.
More than an annual conference, SADC Sustainable Energy Week is the region’s flagship platform for advancing dialogue, forging strategic partnerships and mobilising investment to accelerate Southern Africa’s sustainable energy transition.
As the region works towards universal energy access, greater energy security and climate-resilient economic growth, SADC SEW provides a unique space for institutions to collaborate, exchange knowledge and shape practical solutions that deliver lasting regional impact.
