Hon. Lesego Chombo

    Honourable Lesego Chombo is a Motswana politician, attorney, and former model who currently serves as the Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs of Botswana, a position she assumed on November 11, 2024. She is notable for being the youngest minister in Botswana’s history, appointed at the age of 26. Born on July 30, 1998, in Shorobe, a culturally rich village in Botswana’s North-West District, Chombo overcame economic challenges to excel academically and demonstrate early leadership skills.
    She holds a law degree from the University of Botswana and practiced as an attorney, specializing in community advocacy and social justice, before entering the world of beauty pageants and politics. Chombo gained national and international prominence after winning Miss Botswana in 2022 and being crowned Miss World Africa in 2024.
    As Minister, she focuses on reducing youth unemployment, promoting gender equality, and encouraging leadership among young people. In addition to her political career, Chombo enjoys music, sports, and maintains a strong Christian faith, which influences her work and personal life. She also leads initiatives to support underprivileged youth through education and empowerment.
