Ms. Helvi Ileka

    Helvi Ileka is the Centre Head at the Centre of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency of the Namibia Energy Institute, Namibia University of Science and Technology. She is also the focal person of the SOLTRAIN Project in Namibia since 2012. Mrs Ileka has over 20 years of work experience coordinating and supervising various donor-funded projects in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Namibia’s Renewable Energy Sector and work closely with the Ministry of Mines and Energy, stakeholders in the electricity supply industry of Namibia and SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) She Spearheaded the installation of 433 thermal systems in low-cost housing, industry, tourism and at public institutions, of which the 2 largest systems are installed at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital and Katutura State Hospital in Namibia.  She possesses MSc degree in Energy and Environment Management Specializing in Energy from the University of Twente, Netherlands
