Prof. Oboetswe S. Motsamai is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Botswana, specializing in Thermal Power and Fluids. Prof. Motsamai holds an MSc. in Thermal Power and Fluids Engineering and a PhD in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. Prof. Motsamai is the current director of The Clean Energy Research Centre (CERC), which houses the SOLTRAIN+ project. Prof. Motsamai researches in energy, gas turbine combustion and optimization. Computational Fluid Mechanics (CFD) is a routine menu in his problem solving. Prof. Motsamai is also the current Chairman of the Board of Directors for Botswana Power Corporation. Prof. Motsamai has served the Government of Botswana in various committees and assignments including as a member of a committee under the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources that developed the Concentrated Solar Thermal Power plant (200 MW). Prof. Motsamai also served the government in the development of a 100MW photovoltaic power station and development of Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority establishing policy documents.
