Dr Yesmeen Khalifa is a Research Associate for the Modern Energy Cooking Services programme (MECS) at the STEER Centre, Loughborough University, UK.
Yesmeen’s research focuses on sustainability science, with a particular emphasis on using transdisciplinary approaches to enhance sustainability transformation at the intersection of technology, policy, and society, ensuring that these transformations are just, inclusive, and equitable for all.
She has a multidisciplinary background and holds a PhD in Environment and Sustainability from Keele University, UK, where her research explored the opportunities and challenges of sustainable resource management in developing countries. Yesmeen also holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt, and a BSc in Architecture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, Egypt.
