Mr. Canon Goddy Muhanguzi Muhumuza has served as the Executive Director of the East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (EACREEE) since 2021. Before this appointment, he worked as the Interim Company Secretary, EACREEE and Manager, Intellectual Property Management Office & Principal Legal Officer, at Makerere University. He has overseen the establishment of EACREEE following the East African Community’s decision to set it up.
With over 15 years of experience in Legal Advisory and Practice and as a court-accredited mediator, Goddy also has a long track record in corporate governance serving on boards of various institutions like the Federation of All Africa Sports Union (FASU), the Africa Institute for Strategic Resource Services and Development (AFRISA), Makerere Innovation and Incubation Center (MIIC) and Makerere University Centre for Health and Population Research Ltd (MUCHAP).
He holds a Master of Laws from Makerere University; a Diploma in Legal Practice (LDC), a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University; Diploma in Business Studies (UDBS).
