Mr. Hyacinth Elayo is a Sustainable Energy Policy Officer at the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) based in Cabo Verde. With an active role in shaping regional sustainable energy policies, he presently serves as the regional coordinator of the ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Policy Programme. As a member of the overall coordination team for developing Sustainable Energy Country Action Plans in all 15 ECOWAS nations, Mr. Elayo plays a crucial role in advancing energy initiatives and the creation of an enabling environment to promote sustainable energy investments in the ECOWAS Member States. With over 15 years of experience in the energy sector, his expertise includes research, long-range energy policy formulation, and strategies to combat poverty through affordable energy solutions. He holds an MA in International Relations from Lancaster University, UK, and an MSc in Energy Studies from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom.
