Mr. Tshegofatso Neeuwfan

    Mr. Tshego Neeuwfan is a Utility Innovation Manager for the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP). GEAPP works to tackle energy poverty and the climate crisis by scaling green energy solutions in developing and emerging economies. In this role, among other utility support activities, he is developing a programme to rehabilitate and develop municipal electricity grids for improved local economic activity and livelihoods. Prior to joining GEAPP in 2024, he was the Deputy Chief of Party-Technical (technical lead) and a member of the leadership team for the USAID Southern Africa Energy Program, USAID’s flagship regional energy programme executed by Deloitte Consulting Overseas Projects.

    Tshego started his career at Eskom as an electrical engineer in training and had progressed to the role of a senior advisor when he left the utility in 2016. In which role he conceptualised and executed strategic projects for the utility’s senior and executive leadership, regularly dealing with issues related to the regulatory, strategic, business and system design aspects of the electricity supply industry. Tshego also had brief stints at a renewable energy startup and a managing consulting firm. He is a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow.
