Ms. Martha Wakoli

    Ms. Martha Wakoli is a Manager at CLASP who leads research and modelling for the Clean Energy Access portfolio. Her work focuses on promoting efficient appliances to expand meaningful energy access and improve the quality of life for underserved populations. Notably, she led CLASP’s most recent publication Leave No One Behind which quantifies off-grid appliance access gaps, and the substantial investment required to close those gaps by 2030. Martha has over a decade of versatile experience exploring energy as an enabler of inclusive development. This includes leading the pilot testing of productive use appliances in Rwanda, supporting the government of Botswana in the development of the “National Roadmap for Standards and Labelling for Distribution Transformers”, conducting lighting research in Nigeria, developing mini grids in Tanzania and Zambia and maintaining the grid at Kenya Power, the national utility in Kenya.
